About Me

Bea and Georgie

As a woman in her forties who only discovered the pleasure of exercise later in life, I understand that it can be daunting trying to get fitter. I hope that my support can make your journey a bit easier.

Before I became a personal trainer, I worked for many years in the field of economic development. I specialised in research related to regional development and the evaluation of publically funded projects and programmes in Yorkshire.

I have a PhD from the University of Sheffield. This was awarded for work on metals and manufacturing industries in South Yorkshire. The subject may not be that relevant for an exercise professional, but the research skills I learned have been very helpful to me in assessing the validity of advice on diet and exercise – there is so much confusing and contradictory information out there that a strong background in research methodology comes in useful.
